Saturday was a great day for Tri-Valley athletics!  The day started with the Cross Country teams competing at the IHSA Regionals.  The girls team finished with 173, taking 6th place, and the boys team finished with a score of 194, good for 7th place. Both boys & girls teams placed which advances them to the IHSA 1A Sectionals this Saturday at Decatur St. Teresa.

The Viking varsity football team also played on Saturday, defeating Palestine-Hutsonville 62-19.  The Vikings finished the regular season with a 7-2 record. The IHSA football playoffs begin this weekend and the Vikings are hosting Maroa-Forsyth in Downs at 1:00 PM on Saturday in the 2A playoffs. Anyone interested in purchasing playoff apparel can go to the Tri-Valley website or our Facebook page to find the link. The deadline to purchase playoff gear is tomorrow, Tuesday, at 8:00 AM.  This game is a rematch of last year’s semifinal game and will not be a game you will want to miss!

Finally the varsity volleyball team capped off Saturday by taking claim to the McLean County Tournament championship! The Lady Vikings defeated the defending champion Dee-Mack in 3 sets, 21-25, 25-17, and 25-20 to bring home the HOIC trophy.  The team now carries a 25-4 record into the IHSA 2A Regionals this week hosted at Paxton. The Lady Vikings will face the winner of Heyworth-GCMS on Tuesday night at 5:30 PM. If they win, they will play in the Regional Championship on Thursday night, 6:00 PM in Paxton.

Congratulations to all the student-athletes and coaches on an amazing weekend. Best of luck this week competing in your IHSA competitions!
